Do you have to use that exact hose? The reason being I'm running my Supra with a standard black automotive hose from an auto parts store in that same spot. Same diameter and everything, no leaks either. Is it ok or will it cause problems?

Ive asked all the auto parts around they told me the same if its not made to do that job or if its for coolant it won't last long it gets soft and squishy and eventually breaks but ive found on eonline for 30 bucks brand new, so idk if you got one that working for you then thats good enough right?

i have the same problem: its cracked.. i got a replacement from the local auto parts store...a COOLANT hose in the same diameter... i figure: this is a vacuum hose (right??) if the replacement hose can take COOLANT temperatures, it should be able to function as a vacuum hose ..right?..someone correct me if i'm wrong..(and hopefully before i fit the darn thing in tomrorow mornin!..:)....)

Ok, you're wrong. :) This hose is used to drain oil from the head back into the oilpan. (It also carries the PCV gas as well, which are also thoroughly oiled.) You need to use a hose that's capable of handling oil. If you use a coolant hose, it will rot out in short order, and start spilling oil everywhere. So, back to the store with you!

Quite right, and it's only $29.96 from Champion Toyota. Small price to pay for a genuine Toyota part that was designed for the job.
