Need help w/ cooling system.

Ok, I put in my new radiator two weeks ago. Of course I burped it but I still have air in the system. As I type this the front end of the car is lifted as high as the jack will go with the heater on full blast. The car has been running for about an hour but not a whole lot of air has come out. When I squeeze the upper rad hose and release it I get a little air out. Other than that the coolant just overflows like it wants to burp but that is about it. Any other hints I should try?

The problem is on a healthy coolant system, the thermostat may never open up with the car idling...especially if its cool outside. I removed the "jiggle" valve at the top of the thermostat, leaving a small hole. That gives me constant flow into the radiator...air goes right through as well. The down side is the coolant will take a bit longer to get to ops temp.

I never burp my system...it should expel air into the radiator on it's own. Don't forget to run your heater full blast for a few minutes when it warms up. Usually takes 4-5 days to get it all out, just keep filling at the coolant bottle.

I've found it easier to just let the system work the air out on it's own since I put in my Koyo. I don't know if it's due toi the larger top tank, the overall capacity or what, but I haven't had to burp my system like I did with my stock rad.

When the car cools over night, the pressure will lower inside the radiator. So the outside pressure will push the coolant from the resevoir into the radiator. This is why you have a hot and cold line on the resevoir. Just make sure the resevoir is at the full mark when you park it.

Depending on the amount of air inside, you may need to add in the morning, beofore you drive it or start it.
