i think i have a serious problem, my turbo and my turbo manifold is glowing red hot. its never done this before and i also have not downpipe on it, my exhaust stops at the elbow. what could be causing this problem? any help will be greatly apreciated.

so a boost leak will cause the exhaust side of my turbo and manifold to turn red hot. its boosting fine, and is also running fine, except for the fact i am getting crapy gas mileage

Yes. A boost leak will throw fuel (mostly unburnt) into the ehxaust system. When the exhaust system becomes hot enough, it ignites the unburnt fuel.
You may think you are boosting "fine" but its not likely.

Also, check ignition timing and cam timing.

i just went outside to look at it and there is white stuff where the elbow connects to the turbo, cant check timing yet cause its kinda late and dont want to wake any of the neighbors. plus i have that heat soak problem. would it hurt it to still drive the car or would it cause problems to my turbo and motor.

earlier today my heater core hose broke off and coolant went all over my engine. just a thought this might help diagnose but not sure.

O2 sensor is adding extra fuel to get rid of all the extra air that it's detecting since it's about oh.. say three inches from the outside air. Put you DP back on.

make sure that the coolant lines going into the turbo are not colgged.

This won't make the turbo glow red.

A broken o2 sensor is doubtful to be the culprit of making the manifold run that hot.

I's it normal for you to get a little bit of red glow just before the elbow when boosting hard. not alot just a very slight amount?
