My 87 keeps blowing the interior gauge fuse 7.5amp.
The fuse controls the instrument panel gauges, none of the gauges work, the climate control unit and window motors.

It blew the fuse once and i replaced it and it was fine then blew again 10 minutes later, i replaced it with a 10 amp since i didn't have any extra 7.5's, It lasted for a whole day then blew, i replaced it and now it continues to blow instantly when you turn the key on, It blows instantly.

I removed the gauge cluster and climate control and it continues to blow as soon as the key is turned. The car is off when it blows, so I'm thinking its a short somewhere in the ground?

Any ideas of where to look at? which wire?

Also check the wiring harness in the area of the EGR...mine did this and the EGR tubing melted/shorted the harness.

yea just no i unplug everything that runs off of the gauge fuse and it stop blowing so now i know its not a short in the wiring, so 2moro morning im going to start plugging everything back up one by one and when the fuse blows i know what it is.
