need good advice

ok im changing my motor its knocking on heavens door. can i use my 87 ported head on a 90ish bottom end? what block electronics will i have to change? im also going to reuse my 1mm hk$ mhg cause i dont want to use my 3mm trust mhg. any advice?

You won't have any issues that I know of switching the 87 head to the 90 bottom end.

cool thanks mdc. i would do a rebuild but everything is so expencive here in hawaii shipping just kills me. im only aiming for 400 hp so i should be good. i just need a lex afm and some 550 and ill be well into the 400s. anybody have anwsers to the other ?s ? thanks in advance

There are no sensors or anything on the head, but there are on the block, so you would have to use a wiring harness from an 90-92. Why are you using a 1mm HG?

I'm going to say.. NO..ur fine.. install the engine. the only hitch is the T-stat housing, but ur keeping the old one so ur fine. I have a 90 engine (WHOLE engine) in my 87.. with an87 ECU and 87 harness.. no hacks, nothing (unless by choice for something totally unrelated)

but i though u could not use the harness cause they are differant.if i could do that that is very good news to me! can i still use my 87 head for power reasons? what would happen if i used my 3mm trust mhg?
