I've got all the guides, the TSRM, and most of my parts. I am just about ready to get the transmission in the car, but I'm having a bit of trouble getting the proper clutch hard line. I ordered one from Toyota (and they forgot the lower hard line too) and it just doesn't seem to fit properly. I think running a braided line would be the easiest route at this point.
(1)Do you agree?
(2)Does anyone sell this part, or
(3)do I need to have it made locally?

I want to make sure that I don't screw anything up, I want it all to go in right the first time. The transmission shop that repaired the R154 told me to run 10w-30 motor oil. I was thinking that a full synthetic oil would be best for the transmission.
(4)Good idea? Or should I go with something else?

(5) What needs greased, lubed, etc. when putting in the transmission? I already have new pilot and throwout bearings to put in, do they need greased before I install them?

(6) General good tips to make my life easier are greatly appreciated! I want to do this right the first time.

Thanks for your time!

I just installed mine, wasn't hard actually. WIth a jack i actually got the transmission on in 2 minutes. With out one it was impossible with out another person.

please use 75w90 or 80w90 for your transmission. 10w30 i would only use on a honda transmission. look at the TSRM.

This is the short one under the car. goes from the hard line to the slave cylinder

This one is full length. It goes directly from the master cylinder to the slave cylinder.

If you get the second one you won't need the first one (somebody correct me if I'm wrong)

driftmotion.com description said:
Full length clutch hose, for 5 speed swaps or replacement of old stock hose. It goes directly from the clutch master cyl right to the slave cyl. Eliminates the need for the factory hardlines at the top and bottom. This hose is stainless braided with a clear outer jacket to prevent scratching on the paint and brake hardlines. It will include clips and zip ties to mount it.

CORRECT, it goes straight from the master cyl to the slave

Thanks for the information guys. I'm ready to get this crap finished. This has been a swap I've wanted to do for over 3 years, and now that I'm so close I'm trying to make myself be patient and not cut corners.

Oh! I just remembered, does anyone know what size the crank pulley bolt is? Is that the easiest way to turn the motor to do the pressure plate to flywheel bolts?

Thanks, Bill S Preston, Esquire!

Since you're in North Carolina already, feel like swinging by and slinging a wrench around this weekend? :) haha!
