Hi all,

My car was originally an 86.5 auto NA, with cruise control- buttons on steering wheel.

It currently has an 89+ Turbo JDM engine, manual.

The NA cruise control was ditched years ago when the conversion was done.

What I want to know is that if I wanted to install an 89+ cruise control what parts would I need to do this.

I would assume the cruise actuator, and the sensors on the brake/clutch pedals.
I think the wiring and cruise ecu are still in the car(not sure), but I've read that the pre 89 electrical plugs and NA plugs are different to post 89, and turbo plugs- so I'm assuming I will need all electricals and cruise ecu's etc.

Has anyone done this conversion?
An exact list of parts needed to do this would be great.

Your help is much appreciated.

Thanks
Sam :)

ok,

I'll rephrase my question.

Can anyone list all the components, on a turbo model 7mgte cruise control, incl all electronic components

Cheers :)

NOTE: I find the TSRM isn't very clear and comprehensive on this component, its also possible I don't have the know how to extract the information I need from the TSRM

dont forget the cable from the cruise actuator to throttly body :)

just to clarify, there is no cable that goes to the TB, it goes to the throttle plate that sits on top of the cam covers.

If your steering wheel still have the controls you need the speed control ECU(under the dash, but forget where) the actuator, cable and related vacuum lines, the speed sensor on your trans tail shaft and the brake and clutch switches. Im pretty sure thats all you need.

This will help get you started:
http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/TSRM/MK3/manual.aspx?Section=BE&Page=58

That first page shows all the electrical connections at least. As for mecanical connections there is only some vacuum lines and the actuator to throttle plate cable.

because the throttle plate and throttle body are in two different spots??? the throttle plate is in the throttle body..

no, I mean the bracket/lever that mounts over the top of your cam covers. The Cable for the Cruise control dont actually connect to the TB. Just at the throttle cable itself doesnt actually connec to the tb. Oddly the only cable that connects to the tb is the auto trans kickdown cable.

But Im just nitpicking, sorry.
