Not much difference at all. (And this is coming from an insurance agent).

I swapped the GE for a GTE in my Supra, and my insurance didn't go up at all. My company even added an additional rider to cover the cost of the engine, should the car get totaled or stolen.

when i first got my 87 turbo my insurance was only like 650 a year. the thing about turbo is the tickets lol. 2 years and 9 tickets later state farm deemed me uninsurable and raised my rates to 5000 a year

yeah i have progressive now lol

+1 on State Farm not carrying people that are a liability. BTW, I don't agree with speeding tickets. The danger is greatly exagerated. People are oblivious to their surroundings, and is a much bigger concern.

The rate shouldn't change much.

You can get hard numbers quite easily on any of the insurer's websites for this sort of thing.

When I went from an N/A 87 to a Turbo 89 my insurance rate actualy droped $30 a year. ABS made the rate lower:icon_bigg.

I own a 90 N/A and last year I had an 89 turbo. Insurance was exactly the same. Not a dollar different.

**To add:

I'm 22, perfect driving record, good grades discount, multiple cars in my name. I'm sure my insurance company sees me as a very low risk. :)

For me there was no difference between turbo and non turbo, however abs and airbag do lower it, and the only thing that made mine more was because it's a targa top.
