My possible Supra plan

Ok, so after much thinking about my almost near future, I've come to the conclusion that instead of buying a new car when I graduate, I'm just gonna dump the money into restoring the Supra. The plan is to get the body completely repaired and restored, get all of the rust taken care of and all that jazz and then to get a 1JZ swapped in there.

So a couple of questions, anyone know of any good shops in Florida or maybe even South Georgia that would be reliable for the engine swap and/or body restoration and paint? And does anyone know about how much it would cost for a complete 1JZ and transmission swap (just a ballpark figure)?

I can't answer your questions, but it makes sense to me. Any decently fun new car will run $25 to $30k. Imagine what you could do with your Supra for that price, especially if you do some or most of the work yourself. I would think you could have a freshly rebuilt 1J and go through the suspension/steering to boot. From what I've seen there are some people around northern Fla, Bama, Georgia who might be able to help out better and cheaper than any shop.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. I mean I already fully own the Supra, so why bother with car payments and then having to deal with having 2 cars?

There's a couple of guys with some nice MKIII's around me, I think I'll see what they can help me with...but I really just want to have a nice MKIII of my own like Suprahero's, OneJoeZee's (or Kyle's now)... the list goes on

Yo I hear you on that one I have the same choice keep my mkIII and start with the upgrades now with my job, or wait until I finish school and pick up a mkIV TT the only issue I have is I don’t need to make payments with my mkIII but I could get a nice deal on a mkIV TT for like 15k. but I need to sleep on this some more
