well i just picked up a 91 turbo targa 5spd for my daily driver. The car has been sitting for a year so i need to get a few things adressed before i try to fire it. The fuel guage reads E but i belive i have some gas in there. The turbo coolant line leaks and i have another coolant leak from somewhere not sure yet. I am hoping do a compression check in the next few weeks.
so far this is what i am gonna do before trying to fire it up.

*drain gas tank
*refill with fresh 93
*change oil & filter
*fix leaky turbo coolant line
*try to figure out the other coolant leak
*new PS fluid
*having the rotors turned because they are rusted BAD and i mean BAD..
*new lower rad hose
*new spark plugs (NGK)
*fresh coolant.
Fire it up...hopefully. I will post some pics for you folks soon

Heres what you do,

FULL TUNE UP
Fuel Filter
New P/S Fluid
New Trans Fluid
New Diff Fluid
Change ALL the vacum hoses
Change all the coolant hoses
Get new Rotors and pads
Drain/Fill 93 Gas
New Gas Cap
New Rad Cap
Oil Change & new filter
Let it warm up fully then take for a spin :).
Check the tires and pressure
Drive it EASY! if its a 5sp or auto doesn't matter. No parts moved in a while ;) Give it a proper welcome back to life.

I was just trying to get it running and safe for now since i will be doing a 450 HP build on it soon with drilled and slotted rotors and all that. It wont be driven to far before that.Since i am only 16 and have no licence :( i had bad grades there better now! So once i get it running I will let my buddy chris take me for a spin in it to see what it needs. But autozone has rotors for cheap so i might do that till then.

Enough, dude if you can't drive it. Just do every repair little by little till all is done. Then when you can drive it you will be happy.
