untill it stalls:wtf:
check the basics dude, did you???
Well I'm trying to check the basics but I've got to learn more about them first, it's all a bit confusing right now.
I did a diagnostic test tonight and pulled a code 51. I'm reading up on how to check the TPS right now and will hopefully test that to see if it's good or not tomorrow, maybe that's the problem?
I also found that when the engine is warm (after holding it above idle for probably 5 mins) it idles very smoothly, but is at ~1400rpm. If I gently stab the throttle it sometimes drops down to ~900rpm and stumbles while it pumps out black smoke. I don't know what would cause this to run so rich.. any thoughts?
When I had the intake off I checked the turbo out and could feel play in the shaft, and there was also oil coating the intake tube where the AFM is. What is common to do when the turbo is worn out?
I plan on making this a street car that will see minimal use, after I get the engine all sorted out and cleaned up I want to do some basic upgrades but probably nothing internal. My friend has a few ideas for the body that sound pretty neat, things like shaving the door handles and patching over that indent for the black strip down the center so the whole car is smooth and then throwing some black paint on it.
