My wife has a Zune and I think it's junk. I guess I'm just use to to my 30g Ipod video. Plus, my pioneer h/u has ipod control. I don't see anything like that for zune. Also, putting music and what not on the device is much easier with itunes and not wm player. Just my 2 cents though.

This is why you need a head unit that just takes a USB flash drive. No bullshit, just read and play direct. There are too many IPod ready electronics out these days, and it makes me sick. ITunes is just another piece of rapeware to run in the background and gain a foothold on your computer's resources. Here is how file transfers should work on all music/media storage devices:
Plug in to a USB port. No proprietary bullshit connections.
It is recognized as a hard drive or storage device.
Move files of the correct, playable format onto the device as if it is a hard drive.
Unplug, and play.

This isn't really directed at anyone in particular, but seriously, if you can't rip, copy, compress and move MP3s or other formats to a storage/playback device without these specific programs, either the device and it's documentation or you are seriously lacking. I've been ripping and compressing MP3s since 1995 and it has NEVER been difficult, even when you had to use several programs to achieve end results [I used WinDAC32 and MP3 Compressor]. The hardest part was setting WinDAC to properly read and correct any possible errors on a disc, or drop down to analog mode for certain discs, but it's always been nothing more than a few extra mouse clicks.

how much WAS that halo zune?

btw http://www.archos.com --> defeats zune/ipod/zen anyday & your cellphones :p lol.

i like the Archos AV700 & the 604/704 4th Gen WIFI & the new 605 5th Gen WIFI. they are all bad-ass & you just can't top them . check them all out.

My phone does more, try again. :biglaugh: Verizon Wireless XV7600. It's a palm sized computer with Windows, touch screen, broadband internet, wifi, gps, bluetooth, keyboard, camera and video recorder, and a phone. If i want software it doesn't have, I just go on the internet and install it.

You guys that are all into these techno toys should really look into a Smartphone. Even a smartphone without a touchscreen is still 10x more advanced then any music player, and cheaper. We all have cell phones, so why carry a fannypack to carry all our devices when you can have just one?

I was going to go back to cingular for the Iphone, but it's only EDGE. It might as well be a paperweight. Try surfing the web and shit on Cingulars EDGE, it's slower then 56k.

you forgot mp3 player in ur list ric :p. well the only reason the other devices aren't topping is because they aren't cellphones & they weren't meant to be either. its more for all in one entainement. your phone should have extra features but it should stay whats its suppose to be called a "phone" lol. The GPS is good to have on your phone, camera and video recorder is better to just get a camera thats going to have much better quality & take much longer pictures, cellphone cams are just good for snapshots, bluetooth for your any normal bluetooth used applications, keyboard is good for txting. it just comes down to what you use it for too.

And that's your opinion. I love my ipod and my headunit. More power to you that you can do all that jazz with the computer.

The things you ask for in that post have been out for about 2 years, but they are not sold in America. I work for Palm and basically, the carriers feel we are not ready for such advancements.

What would you do if you could own a cell phone today that had 10mbps internet, 3+MP camera, 4+gig internal HDD? Such things have been out for a few years now overseas.

At least the Treo 8xx with WM6 is going to be a very nice advacement in phone OS.

Wow, im still within my time frame with verizon to cancel. I'm going to get that thing. They have a promotion right now for $39.99 a month for unlimited EVDO revision A (3mbps down, 1.8mbps up), and that includes teathering (hooking phone to pc for internet).

Crap this thing will save me money, I can cancel my cable internet since i barely use it.

Untill you can fit at minimum 60GB(more preferably) worth of data on a smart phone I'm going to have to stick with my ipod.

Smartphone can do a lot but just not everything.

My music collection currently in the neighborhood of 58GB so while I know it's coming it is still down the road a little ways.
