Then she went into the shop, they pulled the quarter out almost 2" on the passenger side, and stole the door from the parts car

Wow :O I'm sad to see it broken but happy to see that it's getting fixed :)

What's the plan? will it be resprayed?

What specification do you have on that wheel and tire setup?

I read in the first post that it came with a 4" exhaust and that you were going to replace it with a 3". Did you do this and if so, what was your experience before and after the switch?

The wheels are Enkei RPF1 Type-RC 18x9.5 and 18x10.5
The exhaust in 4" is awesome, but has quite a bit of drone, I have a 3" Apex-i N1 style which I'm not sure of the brand but it's quite high quality and with a muffler under the car and at the back, it's much more daily-drivable and a lot nicer to the neighbors...

Back home, and the work started on the rest of the car. The car is still in need of paint and a few parts, if anyone has a hatch visor and an 89+ front bumper please let me know. I bought a full interior kit from ridies.com and the dark gray looks incredible against the stock gray interior, just need to get it put on, hopefully I can get the driver's seat covers on this weekend!

Got the remains of the old sound deadening out, next is a final vacuum and acetone wipe before applying the new deadening.

@Supramikect I don't see your post here but I got the email with the pictures of your rides.com seats and THANK YOU! I've never done this before so I'll be learning while doing it so the hints help! I just went and bought the bag of zip ties that you recommended because I know exactly where you described after having already stripped the seats...

Hi, I deleted it yesterday because I didn't realize it was Your build up thread and felt I shouldn't have posted up in it with seat pics.

First time I had ever installed new seat covers too but I was very pleased how the came out and they still look great today. The hardest part was getting the seat back top side wings on either side of the head rest track to fit right. It took a while to stretch and fit it over to make it look good. The headrests have a hidden zipper to remove the old and install the new. Use zip ties to seat frame back sections frame wires instead of hog rings so you can pull them up gradually to adjust the fit.
You probably already know but the seat back has to be separated from the seat bottom to replace covers and than the 4 side bolts have to be re-installed and the seat material gets hog ringed and wrapped back around and re-connected to those 2 black rubber bungee cord attachments with hog rings.
Don't cut the holes for shoulder belt guide screw mounting for a couple days till the material settles, same for butt cushion side cut outs.
Any questions with install feel free to email me at Supramikect@aol.com

Zip ties were easier to use in X

How they look today. I did both front seats in July 2018

All good, pictures help with the final product!
I see you added seat heaters, very well done sir!
I'm going full futuristic and adding ventilated seats by retrofitting IS250 seat fans into the already hefty MK3 seats but it will be worth it!

Today:
Finished installing sound deadening with the help of my wife, she did one side and I did the other. I did 2 layers on the floor and then added some self adhesive duct insulation with about an R2 value but it'll definitely help!
We then installed the original carpet that was professionally cleaned by my wife and she's looking ready for seats! I'm not ready though... That's the next installment

Took a long weekend vacation to Virginia, and had to pick up some parts on the way! Front bumper, nose panel and fender to put the front end back together!

Yes, ridies.com, I'm very happy with the covers! A lot of the wrinkles came out after sitting in the hot car, I need to take it back out anyway so I'll be sure to stretch them out some more but I'm pretty satisfied with the original fit of them!

Did some bodywork and fit my new used fender, just need to roll it to match the other side then it's prime and paint. I sanded my new used bumper and nose panel as well in preparation for primer, just need to get some flex SEM primer and I'll fit those as well. Body shop is holding my parts hostage for some reason but I will be picking that stuff up this week and get back to reassembly!

When being a hoarder really comes in handy, all new weatherstrips and some new moldings, some 10+ years old at this point but all fresh out of the package

Installed some radiant insulation in the targa, 2 layers = the same thickness of the OEM jute at a fraction of the weight and the insulative properties are far superior
