Well after being on this site for over 2 years I finally have my hands on a mk3. Its an 1987 2 tone turbo 5 speed(in the beginning) with tems and 117k on it. I picked the car up from zumtizzle last week for a crazy low price, thanks again man! The car is a roller with 89 tails, but with a 125$ price tag it was still an amazing deal. It has most of the elecs under the hood, and the entire interior minus the front carpet, front seats, glove box and random small little parts here and there. I will be picking up a 89 7mgte with rod knock and r154 for 200$ this weekend. The combo comes with the engine harness, MHG, flywheel and clutch, driveshaft and radiator, and all the other things on a long block. The engine does have RK and who knows what else(the engine is coming from 91blackeye, you can read this thread to learn about this guy and this particular engine)Im not gonna front anyone, my plans are to just get this car running and resell it to make a hefty profit, as i want an 89+ with a targa. So im only building to get it on the road, not gonna build this one for any kind of power.

Enough with the talking here are the pictures:

Not bad for such a cheap price tag!!!

Some questions I have:
Will any 89-92 turbo 5 speed ECU work with the 89 harness?
Will i need to repin anything for the 89 harness to work in the 87 body, with the 87 Electronics?

Pulled the engine apart today and found a few things. It has arp BOLTs not studs like the PO had said. Only one set of bearings were bad and the crank felt smooth so i dont think ill need to machine it. Pictures:

Started reassembling the 7m today to get it ready, and the 2 rear head bolt holes in the block stripped out..All the other 12 went in perfectly after going 10-40-80..But 3 and 4 decided to strip out..So ill have to use the other block without a MHG :/..

Well i suppose its time for an update, even if people don't care . Over the last 2 months Ive acquired 2 more of these behemoths:aigo: from 91blackeye(Who inevitably stole money from me but that is another story). Anyway one was his white 87 with a blown engine, but a full car, and a red 89 targa roller :naughty:.

After i get the blue car running and sold, and the white car sells the red car will be getting a 1j and some love.
I finally got a 7m off sumeet and tore it down to inspect and replace what was needed, i did not replace the HG when installing the ARP headbolts and that may bite me in the ass but it shouldn't be to horrible.

The engine is 90% ready to go in, I just need to do the vac lines and bolt up the OEM clutch and the tranny :D. The car now has a the 3r exhaust, and the maroon interior will go in from the white car just temporarily until i can find blue carpet and front seats.

Since photobucket sucks ive moved to imageshack. The engine and tranny are in the car and turning over. Tomorrow the car should be running.

Engine had Rod knock on 1/2 an arm :/. So i took it out and as it was at the machine shop mr. zumtizzle offered me a fully rebuilt engine for about the same cost as getting new bearings and machine work. So within the next few weeks ill be picking it up and putting the engine in. So hopefully this damn thing will run for good now! Meanwhile all my spare 7ms(3) will be going to the scrap yard.
