hey guys--- im in the market for a new mp3 player. I was looking at the irver 20 gig. I DO NOT WANT AN IPOD!!! those damn things never work for me. I had a shuffle, and the damn thing crapped out at me. I took it back to apple, and there like , "well you warrenty prob doesn't cover that" so fuck i-pod. I don't want to spend over 300 bucks. Should have a screen, and i want it too hold enough songs. The ipod shuffle jsut didn't hold enough for me. And i would like to see what im listening to. Anybody have one for sale??

thanks in advance.

I would go with an Iriver! I have one and I have yet to have a problem with it. Iriver has alot of features like the Radio, text files, pictures etc. and the sound quality is very good! You can even alter it based on what your are listening to. If not an Iriver go Creative.

Ipods are becoming more of a fad than anything else. Even if they are nice, I would never buy one.

So if a company made a quality product (not in reguards to ipods because they do have their flaws) you wouldnt buy it just so your not part of the trend. I find that a little dumb.

If you follow trends and like to spend too much money on products in this consumer world, then go ahead and buy one. I on the other hand don't, I see tons of people out there with them, and frankly thats annoying, kind of like Nextel phones.

not buying a ipod because there *cool* or a *fad* is considerd ok in my book. it part of being a non-conformist. i dont really like them. i have a rca lyra and its not too bad. i need a newer one though cuz mine is old as dirt.

i do hear good things about the iriver though. might be my next one.:evil2:

I havent bought an iPod yet because my brother has one and my dad has 3, they crash a lot. Then they have to wait until the battery dies, this alone has kept me away from them. And my girlfriend just got hers stolen a few days ago. But shes pretty sure of who did it so we'll be visiting someone very soon. :evil2:
All in all, they are unreliable and people steal them way too much.

I like my Shuffle. The only time it froze was when it read a corrupted mp3, then I had to delete it before it can resume playing again. Plus it doubles as a thumb drive. And the size of it is enough where I don't care what's playing, but if it was 20 gbs, then a screen and navigation would be helpful.

With that said, Creative, Iriver, Samsung, Cube and Archos are also good choices

I agree that iPods are pretty weak. Mine almost never works.
My big problem with MP3 players in general is this whole super-slick high-tech shiny look that all the manufacturers seem to embrace. Its like they're designed to get all scratched up and haggard looking.
