I mounted my DIS-4 in the glove box.
It was not recommended, so I traced a grid on the box and drilled ventilation holes. Then attach 12v fans, and you'll be fine.

Well, after several emails and phone talk with their thech guys, they recommended inside the car to keep it cool. NOT under the hood.

I was able to easily place it under the dash, at the firewall, above the clutch pedal area.

I come from a land down under
Lagged: The board is encapsulated in epoxy so in theory it should be ok there but I'd still be concerned about drowning it.

I looked at under the seat but as I had 2 units to mount space and RF interference were a bit of a concern.

My "size" comment was only that if it was made in Japan it would be 1/3 the size ;)

Dale: Yep there's lots of "Old Tech" in the MSD boxes and could be made much more compact with modern electronics!
(If anyone is interested I have a brand new unused Dis4 in a box here)
