ok so today I was getting all ready for my swap to begin tomorrow when I got a shocker! The holes for my motor mounts don't line up to the holes!!!! I thought that the 89+ motor mounts would work with the 1jz or have I been had!? Plz someone help me. Yes they are the round style mount and they come out of my 89 ma71.

the motor mounts will work, but the motor mount brackets are different.

you sure the motor is as far back as it will go? When i did mine, turns out it was 2 inches forward of where it was supposed to be. I had to lift the back of the motor and swing it back into the holes.

Ok, I was just hoping someone could clear this up for me.
mid 89 and previous need new mounts for a jz swap
mid 89 and later the 1jz will drop right in
Someone correct me if Im wrong so far.
So if I plan on dropping an aristo motor into my 91 I will definitely need either custom mounts(bic) or the 1jz mounts?
So i am guessing the aristo 2jz mounts are different from the 1j.
Basically the 2jz aristo mounts wont fit the mk3 period?

square mounts, get adaptors, 90+ subframe or hack and weld the early subframe, circle mounts, good to go

AFAIK aristo mounts wont work, but jza70/80 mounts will

Ya, you need to find the motor brackets that come off of a 1JZ that was mounted in a MK3 supra. Then you can use those brackets with the rubber mounts to install the engine in the 89+. Look in the 1J for sale. I bought a pair for $120.

Actually It looks like there is a pair for sale in the 1JZ for sale section. You may want to see if they will work. Only $85!!!!!!

The 89+ round mounts will work but NOT the 7M brackets, like said before you will need to find a set of JZA70 brackets or get the BIC replica brackets and use the round mounts with them. I have them instock and ready to ship, you will see them in about a week.

^ to answer ur question, YES

I have the same setup 1J w/ BIC Brackets & 88 Mounts (SQ)

That is the main reason for BIC Brackets but some 89+ Use it cause they may have the wrong brackets on their 1j or it didn't come with any
