Sup guys and gals, I have heard stories of people making 800 HP on the stock rods and pistons ( Was an Orange supra). My power goal is for 600-650 Hp, With all new Toyota bearings, and Toyota rings, do you think the stock rods that were shot-peened with ARP bolts and also ARP studs on the Mains can handle it with out blowing up. I'm going to be running Haltech E8 engine Management system so I can get a perfect tune.

so your on stock pistons aswell? I think the rods if preped correctly could do it but for the price of eagles I am not gonna be the one to try it.

I'm building a 600rwhp 7M right now.

What am I using?

Probe forged pistons (there is a group buy going on right now - $334.50 + shipping - if you are interested, head to www.driftmotion.com, and enter the store. Click on Probe GB, and there you go!) and Eagle forged rods.

I don't intend to find out the limits of the stock rods. Mike Malloy made 535ish rwhp, and bent a rod on a 36psi overboost.

Do it right - do it once.

36 psi was quite the overboost LOL.
Anyway, a local here is actually making 590ish on stock pistons and rods. BUT they were brand new from factory about 4 years ago.

A-MEN....although id be more worried about the stock pistons, not the rods especially if they were checked and shot-peened- i think they could handle 600.

Your info is incorrect. Tony's car was built ;) 650RWHP on stock shot peened rods is fine. (my old set-up was 620RWHP)

Yes, the stock piston rods are pretty beefy - I just prefer having stronger than needed, so I don't have to worry, should I have a 36psi overboost ;)

Plan for the worst, and hope for the best :D

927, I sent you a PM - did you get it?
