Hello guys i just got my car running again. Im running a Q-45 throttle body, and have an adapter to a 7m tps. Im throwing codes 31, and 41. Was throwing 51, but reset and now just the other 2. With no load on the car and reving it will die out at 1600-1800 rpms. If it gets past 2000 rpms it revs fine. It does the same thing with the tps sensor unplugged. So could it just be the afm causing this. By the way no vaccume leaks nor leaks from intercooler piping. Help me out.

Code 31 specifically deals with the AFM circuit. I would trouble shoot that first. It will cause the issue of the car not staying alive. After that, move on to code 41 about the TPS. My suggestion is to double check plugs, make sure they are getting full contact and that no wires have obviously pulled out of the plugs. The very next step (and most likely) is to bust out the voltmeter and start tracking down the problem as per the TSRM ranges. Our wiring harnesses are old and could likely have shorts somewhere along the way or just flat out broken wires.

Ah, well if it does end up being a bad AFM (verify by swapping out with someone else's) then I have one laying around I could cut you a deal on.

they can be tested while on the car, measure the hz of the ks signal. warm idle is 15-20hz and should rise accordingly. If you have a safc, that would tell you as well. Oh and unplugging it should remove said symptoms but keeps you in limp mode.

Ok guys replaced the afm with my cousins off my old supra. Car still has same symtoms untill i unplug the tps sensor and then it runs fine. Am i mistaken that it should run like complete shit without the tps if at all. But no tps hooked up and it drives down the road fine. Whats the deal here?
