more boost, better idle - updated pics of poopra

First off, thanks where needed for helping me figure out my idle issues and low boost situation.
Here is an update.
The car runs smooth as silk now. Boost is a steady 6psi, I think the wastegate spring is weak. But I took the long weekend as an opportunity to get ready for the Ohio meet coming up next weekend...
did the following:
electric fan
IC hard pipes
cooleeze radiator upper pipe
new plugs
new plug wires

below are the pics. (look mommy, no emmissions)
Ill be cleaning up (degreasing) the engine bay later today. I think shes finally ready for the boost controller, 10psi should waker her up.


Thanks to JonStew for donating the old 2.5" aluminum pipes and couplers from his alltrac and the BOV thats holding place for the Tial I have on order from Speed-Source.
Carl is also sending me a Titanium 3000 pipe replacement. :naughty:

yeah, Im degreasing the hell out of it this afternoon. but I was so happy with the results I couldnt help but post.

It went well, but hardly as good as I wanted. see attached pic.
It worked well on the pipes and engine, but the firewall is still pretty nasty thanks to the PO. He had a BHG and drove it around like that and to top it off had a huge hole in the downpipe while he did it, hence the nasty sticky soot on the firewall. I used 3 cans of Gunk Heavy Duty and about 10 minutes of high pressure wash.
Im attaching a closeup of that as well. anyone have any suggestions on how to get it off of there? its nasty stuff.

heres an interesting shot. engine with BHG when I first bought it in November - vs - Pics today (metal HG, minor port job, ARP's, K&N FIPK, Custom Alum upper hard pipes, Speed-Source lower hard pipe, BIC DDP, test pipe, new wires, plugs, etc, electric fan, Cooleeze upper rad pipe, Driftmotion p/s hose, no emissions, etc)

i heard that the simple green? stuff is a good degreaser/cleaner to use with a toothbrush, time, and some beer.

i read online somewhere that said that many acetone based products will clean that crap up ASAP, but there is also a good chance that it will eat your paint. so maybe if i was respraying my engine bay before i dropped in a motor id use that but im no expert lol...
