Well,. I have had this problem from the beginning when I first got the car.. The car can sit over night and will start up first try and run smooth.. If the car gets to operating temp and then sits for 30min to an hour it misses for about 20 seconds then clears up. It does it intermittently but more than not. Sounds like it is missing on 1 or two cyl's. Ignition timing and cam timing is on, I think it could be a leaky injector? Thanks for any input in advance!

Thanks,
Devin

It sounds like your experiencing vapor lock. The fuel is boiling inside the fuel rail. This makes for difficult warm starts. The 7M-GTE has a fuel pressure up system to combat this. Unfortunately because the NA dosen't have to deal with the added heat of a turbo so they did not add the system. I do know if the Fuel pressure regulator or the check valve in the fuel pump fail, it can lead to vapor lock especially in a hot environment.

As this link shows, if the system is not holding pressure for at least 5 min, one of these systems is weak or has failed. This can cause the issues described above. You may start by consulting the TSRM and inspecting those components.

Well Im definitely in a hot environment! I will refer to the tsrm and go from there. Hopefully it is a bad FPR, I have another one so I can swap it out.

Thanks for the input :)
