I have a no start issue with my 1jz, all stock nothing major.
Diagnosed everything back to no voltage at +B at ECU.
Tested M-REL pin and it only put out 4v. I disconnected main relay at fuse box, re-tested M-REL pin and got 9v.
So the ECU puts out 9v but when it's connected to relay it immediately drops to 4v. Tried different relays with same result.
Faulty ECU or is it a failsafe?
I could completely bypass the main relay control circuit on-board ECU (or simply the M-REL pin) and make my own relay to switch on main relay, which I've tried and car starts up and idles fine.
But would I just be ignoring another issue? Is the main relay control circuit necessary?
