so i was just doing a checkup on my brakes and noticed the front driver caliper wobbles. the caliper bolt is tight and it wobbles maybe 1-2mm. it seems the top pin is loose, the caliper support is rock solid. i dont see anyways to tighten the caliper pin(not sure what to call it).

the calipers are also pretty much brand new. not sure what could cause it to be loose....?

the top pin is just a slide... so make sure ur mounting bolts are tight, and ur lower pin and thats as much as u can do.

yep floating calipers. look em up on howstuffworks.com. one part(the torque plate) stays put and supports the pads. the other part slides, floats, moves so that the pads engage with even pressure on each side of the rotor.

i know they are floating and move. however the other 3 had no play at all, so i was just checking that something was messed up with the 1 that moved....

Same thing on my Subaru. 230,000mi took it's toll on the slides, and they're simply worn out. Makes a hell of a rattle over bumps though.

If the bolts are tight, it's fine. You just need new slides, as yours are worn out.
