Went to start my car today & every thing came on as usual then when I turned the key to start the engine every thing went dead. Yesterday when I was installing the power steering idle up metal pipe across the lower front of the
engine, I touched something in below the alternator with the pipe and something sparked like when you ground across a battery. Do not have any
idea what I f'ed up but it seems to be a major. Checked fuses in main box and
all are fine. Any ideas on where to start looking to fix this problem?
Thanks, Fred

Just rechecked the fuse, top looked OK went to pull the fuse and it is locked
in tight- to the extent that the plastic shattered in my fingers. It's probably
fused to the bottom poles? Also interior beeping and interior lower light flickering. Never had that before. I agree with your quotes, I seem to fix
something on the car then there's something else! The car is beautiful and
frustrating. Besides the fuse any other suggestions? It's guys like you that
know so much and are willing to respond that makes this forum so valuable!
Thanks, Fred

Replace that fuse first, you have to unbolt it from underneath the fuse box to remove it. I think mine was ~$6-$8 at the dealership.

Thanks for the info Chris, just changed the fuse and nothing. Everything comes
on inside and when I turn the key to start everything goes dead. Possible
short in the starting system?
Thanks for any response, Fred

Just to add, tried the key again and now everything is dead. NO response
at all in any key position. Took out the battery and had that tested-OK so
where do I start?

Most likely a loose or corroded battery terminal connection. Check the small wire that comes off the battery positive. Its actually a fusible link. Make sure its not bad, or frayed at the terminal.

Checked the positive connections and all are clean and good, same with the
negative connections. Thanks for any help, Fred
