hey guys i tryed to lookup the actual thickness of the lifter shim on the TSRM but it only showed the diameter of the lifter and oil clearance. nothing on the shim. I need to know the actual thickness and the limit of the thickness of the shim. or do they vary by application.

There are several different thicknesses.

What would really be nice is to get a sound answer from those who have used the shims out of the motorcycle engines from certain brands (heard they are an exact drop in and are much less than Toyota shims) and ZETEC shims, and sticky that sucker with the part numbers for them and a link on where to buy them, or a number to call to buy them.

If you are re-shimming you valves, you'll more than likely need a few that you don't have.

As I mentioned in another thread, Goodson.com has good prices(maybe the best) on 4-packs of 25mm shims. I just put a bunch in tonight, and will be posting a pic of the shims and the head( since it's finally frikken done!).
The nice thing about the Goodson shims, is that they have the size printed on one side in metric.
PS- you want I believe .15-.25mm gap on intake, and .20-.30mm on exhaust IIRC.
