Hi everyone. I apologize for a redundant question, but, when searching for Lex AFM i receive about 100 hits on AFM's for sale, and not a lot of info on the mod itself.

My first question is, when I install the Lex AFM, 550 injectors, fuel pump, o2 wideband, Fuel Pressure regulator, will the car run without a piggy back (i.e. safc)? I've read that these mods are plug and play and a piggyback is not needed and I've also read the opposite...

Second question: If I do need a piggyback, and I install it, will the car be drivable in order to reach a shop that can tune it? If it's drivable, how far can I drive it (I live in NH and there isn't much around haha)

Third question: Are the Lex AFM's off of the SC400, SC300, LS400 all the same and usable for this upgrade? Or is it just the SC400 (as the home page article indicates) usable? I've read that the SC400 and LS400 are the same motors...

Last question: Is it necessary to replace the fuel lines with this fuel upgrade?

Here are my mods so far:
New Crate Motor
Rebuilt head
metal HG
3" exhaust
intake
50 trim ct26
oil pressure gauge
aem boost controller
spearco replica & hardpipes

HP Goal: 350whp

PSI Goal: 16-18 psi

Thanks in advance

Has to be off ls400 or sc400 with a 1uz-fe motor.
You dont need anything to tune with as you can tune your afrs with a wideband, afpr, and the adjustment screw on the afm housing.
Dont need to replace the fuel lines but it would be wise to run new wires for the pump.

Is there a writeup somewhere about using those pieces (afm screw, wideband, afpr) to tune? I did some searches and didn't find much after 10 pages of results... Especially the lex afm screw...I know you have to drill out the one on the 7m afm...does the lex afm need to be drilled/tapped as well?

Thanks again.

You dont need anything from the stock afm unless the lex housing doesnt have the electronics. All the electronics are the same.

If you look through the housing you will see a screw, look on the outside and you will see a plug, gently drill through the plug enough where you can pop out the plug and then you have a screw to adjust with.
You will only get some much adjustment with that screw.

Just install the parts and set the fuel pressure to stock which is 30-40psi and watch your afrs and adjust from there.

Hvyman: Can his set up run @ 16- 18 P.S.I. like he wants.
Supra0089: I think you read the "oposite" is because members are saying that a piggy back will "fine" tune it. ( I think)

You'll be fine. Just follow the link provided. I ran the Lex / 550s / Walbro combo for awhile with my Greddy 20g with zero problems. Just recently installed an S-AFCII to 'fine' tune it in WOT.

I live in the lakes region...close enough to north/northeast mass to come pick up the AFM if you want to sell it. PM me with details. Thanks.

Yep, the SC300 has a n/a 3.0, so the AFM off of that would not be an upgrade.
