I've got a leaking shifter retainer gasket. I knew it wasn't in the best of shape when I put it on but didn't think it would see much pressure or fluid up that high. Guess I was wrong... found the gasket on driftmotion for $35. Is it possible for me to replace this gasket without pulling the tranny? Perhaps loosen the tranny mounts to get more clearance and remove the shifter retainer from the chassis shifter hole. Anyone have experience with trying this?

If you were to unbolt the tranny mount, loosen the two motor mounts(and drop the driveshaft support bearing), then yes, you can replace the retainer gasket from the shifter hole.
