Knocking from head only during idle?

Hey guys, I wanna keep this simple: there's a knock coming from the head, but goes away when you rev it. Doesn't get any louder, just stays that way on idle. Any ideas/suggestions/pinpoints? Thanks!

Nope, I know what valve tick sounds like, this sounds more from the front of the head. Closer to timing belt area

Thanks for the info jetjock, sincerely. Right when I thought I knew most of the problems and the common fixes of the 7m there is always something else that I haven't yet heard of or experienced. That's what I love about this forum, and forums in general.

Ck the cam gear bolts

I had exactly the same knocking as this and it was loose cam pulley bolt

Also there is the issue of previous owners and those that think 15W-40 or 20W-50 is better protection and the head is the last thing to get lube. Hey, it happens.
