I wasnt really sure if this is the right place to post, im kinda new here. I tried to search for a thread but i couldnt find one lol..
My mk3 7mge has a bhg :3d_frown: so i am just going to buy a new engine insted of rebuilding this one. Might as well put a turbo,
so my question is were can i buy a new engine 7mgte or 1jzgte those would be the cheapest right. whats a good web site to buy one from.? i would rather buy an engine locally here in AZ instead of ordering off the internet. if there is a thread that can walk me threw this whole processes could ya give me the link. thanks

ok well i had the same problem with mine.... you should just pull the head off and have it re surfaced and put the head gasket in and the head back on. Also use ARP head studs and bolts and retorque the head to 75 to 90 ft/lbs. that would be cheaper then buying a new engine and having it dropped in. plus you dont know the miles on an engine you buy and whats to say you dont blow a head gasket in that one. but if you are looking for an engine, go to google and put your engine code in (7mge) and see what pops up. Other then that i dont know what elce to tell you.

1J's are JDM only, so you're going to have to go through an imported to get one unless you find a private party selling one near you. You may find that buying a new motor is more costly than just fixing yours, because the new motor might have blown rings or a BHG too. You don't need a MHG if you aren't boosted, and you don't need as fine of an RA if you're using a composite. Buy a Factory headgasket from toyota and some ARP hardware and throw it in.

I decided in just replacing the head gasket on my engine since it was almost impossible to drive it with the hg blown. Its alot cheaper so once i get settled into my new apartment i will save up for a 2jz swap:evil2: I pulled the head off and the head gasket had holes every where haha resurfaced the head for 40 bucks and bought the new Felpro hg for 94 bucks going to put it back together tomorrow

I put a new headgasket in my mk3 about 2 weeks ago, i have a problem tho ive tried to fix this misfiring that it has, but cant find out whats wrong. When i turn the car on it will idle but when i try and give it gas the engine will stumble and not rev up at all some times i could give it wot and the revs stay at idle you can here the engine spiting and making all kinds of noise. It really confuses me because sometimes ill go for a drive and it will run perfect with no missing , but if i go later on for another drive it will run like crap? once i get it passed 3500-4k rpm and up, it will pull fast and no missing at all but from idle to 3500-4k it will missfire bog out have no power and slowly rev up.
ive changed the spk wires and still has this problem. ive been looking at threads that could help but havent found one. some one help:1zhelp:
