is it safe to leave the heater relay jumped at all times?

this is what im doing: i have a custom switch for off, med, and hi blower speeds. im using an on-off-on switch, so the relay is constantly grounded, while one on position is hi and the other on position is med. so, the relay is always grounded.

if its not safe to leave always grounded, is there a kind of switch that could accommodate what im doing? (like a switch that has two inputs per on position)

thank you!

EDIT: im asking because i assume there are undesirable side effects to leaving the relay jumped, otherwise im not sure why thered be a relay there in the first place. but i really have no idea.
