ISC questions, ECU questions re: auto to 5-spd

I'm having an idling issue as some of you know. (my idle is anywhere from 1500 cold to 1200 warm). So I've been doing up some reading up and I started looking into the ISC.

Turns out that the ISC gets a variety of inputs including from the auto tranny to set the correct idle speed. Now if I did the 5-spd swap, will it have issues if these sensors or inputs are not giving any feedback? Should I look into getting an ECU from a 5-spd?

You'll need a 5 speed ECU...you are correct about the inputs. You can use a auto harness (same year) with a 5 speed ECU, but you can't use a 5 speed harness with an auto ECU.

There are some other differences in the sensors (neutral start switch comes to mind).

Cool thanks a lot.... let me ask you one more thing if you don't mind :)

My car is an 88, Turbo, TEMS, ABS

Do I have to get an ECU from a car with all those options? Will 86.5-88 work, or does it have to be 88?

Thanks again!

You need a Turbo ECU from an '88...yellow plugs. TEMS should not matter...ABS, that I'm not sure of.
