i have a hks standard waste gate and am having boost creep. It also wont boost spring pressure of 14 psi it wants to go higher to 16 and creeps in higher gears.
i have a ebay manifold and it along with the wg was working fine at 14 psi on a friends car. the vavle opens less than a 1/2 inch. there is about another 1/2 inch of stem that could go down farther but the valve does not. the face of the valve appears to be very close to the seat on the hks flange.
do the gases go over the valve face and out into the open bowl area of the wg and then down under the back of the valve face and out the dump tube?
is the valve not opening up because of the spring binding or maybe a bur on the stem?
This is a hks knock off with a rear hks valve and diaphram in it.
I can also hear and feel air coming out from around the stem at the valve guide. Is this normal
I hooked up a air compressor and appllied 24 psi to the wg to open the valve.
