Alright, guys, My 7M-GE is making a very audible ticking noise at idle. The sound seems to be coming from the area of spark plug wire #3-#4. Engine oil level is normal, engine oil pressure is normal, temperature is normal, no misfires, and the car drives perfectly. Am I at the beginning stages of rod knock, or is this something smaller?
Edit: Just did a bit of reading, and I'm thinking that it could be that the valve shims are worn, or that I might have a leaky exhaust manifold. Thoughts? The ticking doesn't sound like it's coming the engine's bottom end. I should mention that the previous owner did a top end rebuild of the engine.
