Nearly $5k for a 20 year old car sounds like a fair amount to me.

no not forthis car. itwas mint with lots of reliable aftermarket components and power

to you it may "sound" good but lets say you had a car you loved and poured money into it to make it better for long term use. once its gone its gone and if some guys says its OLD you'd be pissed.

hell yea i get pissed when they say its old and not good enough basically to be worth anything significant

No, I'm realistic about the fact that cars depreciate, and the money you put into them will never come back out again.

I also save every receipt and would never take the first offer. It's the adjuster's job to pay you as little as the insurance company can. It's your job to produce receipts and fight for every penny you can.

edit: I've spent a ton of money on my MKIII over the past 4 and a half years, trust me, I am never going to see but maybe half of it again.

full coverage is really for new cars and you never get anything good out of it with used stuff. Seems like assumed or agreed value is the way to go. But then again if they are letting you keep the car then they arent really paying you for the entire value of the car. Insurance compnaies are all a scam either way. Goodluck i hope you can find a good body to use
