You should make the vacuum lines longer, so that you can adjust it more readily...like maybe on top of the fender? I have mine tied to the AFM housing bracket.
longer lines will cause it to spike.

Yea, it will not cause spiking, unless you are using a shitty valve...I have about 4 feet or so of hose connecting mine...and I have been running 11psi with no spiking or issues. But then again, I am using a Grainger ball and spring valve... Is yours the one that Dr. jones sells?

i would take a picture of it to show you, but i let someone borrow my camera. i think this one is a ball and spring valve too. i got it from empera, and judging by his car, i'd say this has to be a good mbc.

im pretty sure the valve im using is a ball and spring valve. i got it from empera, and judging by his car, i'd say its a good valve.
so i took out my shims and i installed the mbc and loosened the adjuster almost all the way out. i have yet to his fuel cut, but what boggles me is why i still am running a lot of boost. i dont know what it is but im pretty sure i pegged the needle again. im just gonna take it easy for a while until i can put in a boost gauge that doesnt suck.

I have found that the stock boost gauge is incredibly slow to react...like my aftermarket boost gauge will show full boost (11psi) when the stock gauge has just hit 4psi and is slowly rising...and it is usually 1-2psi off... But if you haven't hit fuel cut yet, then you are somewhere between 8-12psi.

so i got a gauge..
and i'm hitting fuel cut at 14-15 all the time with the screw screwed all the way out on the MBC. what can be wrong here? can my wastegate be messed up? i'm gonna run a hose from the turbo directly to the wastegaste tommorrow and see what boost i get. how would i know if the boost controller is backwards? any other ideas?
