hey guys, i know my 88 7mgte using a low impedence injector.

my question was i have recently picked up a set of RX7 550's. P/N : 195500 1370
they are the purple top injectors, as of now what i have read on the net about them are they are "high impedence"

i will ohm them out tomorrow to find out for sure though.

i though i remembered some people talking about 90-92 used high impedence?
or there was a way to use them in the earily modles by swaping parts?

if you guys & gals have any information for me it would be great! i would really love to break the 400whp mark, and im almost there at 375whp &335ft lbs & was running out of fuel on the stock injectors.

thanks again!

On my 88 I have used low impedence denso 550cc's, The part number is 195500-2020 they are the red tops that also came in rx-7's. Your stock injector drivers will not work properly with a high imp. inj.

Just for shits and giggles, does a toyota injector driver have just one low- and one high-impedance rating? Im sure there are different ohm readings within the high and low ranges, no? Otherwise you could use one from another model year that was high-impedance. AFAIK, you could use the hi-imp. driver if you needed it to run RC's or whatever and had a lo-imp to start with. Or vice versa.

Of course I could be wrong. And all I know about isfor MK1 MR2s. But knowing toyota, they did that somewhere else too

I think that in order to change injector drivers you also have to change your ecu to control it, because the fuel map values wouldn't be the same.

i found some more info .

Just the clarify...

The low-impedence 1986 - 1987.5 FC turbo fuel injectors are *purple* brand new.
When faded, they look gray / tan.

The high-impedence 1987.5 - 1988 FC turbo fuel injectors are *red* brand new.
When faded, they look pink.

Both sets use the rectangular "Bosch-type" plug, but the keys are offset due to the difference impedences.

The low-impedence, early year ones are center keyed.
The high-impedence, later year ones are offset to the side.

looks like i should be fine with these, but i'll still ohm them when i have a chance but looks like im going to buy injector clips.
