inconsistent miss under load

Hi all,

earlier today i took my car out for its first drive to try and tune the maft pro a little, and while driving it around my block i noticed an inconsistent miss and accessional misfire through the intake at idle and under load. under no load the car seems to run fine so i am stumped to what could cause this problem. Also when i went to pull the codes after noticing the miss it seems that my check engine light will not flash codes so i don't know how to diagnose the problem.

I read the the ignitor could possibly have something to do with this so i am going to try the grounding trick to see if that works. Also will try redegreeing the cams.

any help would be greatly appreciated i am stumped at the issue thanks in advanced

Backfire should be a timing related problem.

thats kinda what i was thinking. i am going to try retimming the motor and see how that works

Is there a difference between ignitor like a 1990 turbo ignitor and a 1988 turbo ignitor

check that cps installed correctly. it probably is if the car is cranking easily. all ignitors are the same. the color of plug makes no difference. what is your spark plug gap? 28 to 23 may work better. higer boost needs tighter gap. Is your base FP set to 46 with vacuum line off? that seems a little high but if its tuned good and does not idle rich fouling up your plugs then thats ok.

If your check engine light will not flash then you have a wiring problem. I forgot where to look but maybe jetjock will chime in.
