ignitor differences

couldn't find the answer to this question.
are there differences between the pre 89, and the 89+ ignitors?
EDIT: for turbo models ^

related question: if the ignitor isn't sending an IGF signal to the ecu, but the coils are good, does that generally mean the ignitor is shot?

Nope the igniter never changed.

Just the colors of the pigtails changed

I'm using a grey tailed one, where my stocker was a green tail.
