Ok so my 7mge came with an msd 6al ignition. This morning, the ignition decided to take a shit on me so Im assuming that its defective. How do I take it out and reinstall the stock ignition? I suck at wiring issues so help me out here.

You should be able to get the wiring instructions for the box from MSD, and then reverse engineer it.

Never assume. There is help for diagnosing the box at msdignition.com's techsupport section. You could just have a bad fuse, or the box isn't getting ground or voltage, etc. Be careful how you test the box as well, as they are easy to short out.

Good luck.

Well what happened was....saturday morning, i tried to start the car and everything came on, but the car wouldnt crank or anything. All lights and everything would come on but it wouldnt crank. So I changed the little wire that is in the fuse box under the hood and replaced it with a fusable link. I tried to start it....the same thing happened. So I replaced the positive battery cable this morning. When I turned the key, the car would crank but not turn over. So I rolled it down a hill and popped the clutch and it started. Once I stopped at the bottom of the hill, I gave it a little gas and then the whole car died. I took out the key and then put it back in and tried to turn on the car.....no dash lights, stereo, no nothin. Not even my windshield wipers. The only things that will come on now is the electric radiator fan when I turn the key to the on position, my hazard lights work, and headlights work. Nothing else. Not even the electric driver seat or anything. I checked all the fuses. The all seemed to be good. The only other thing I can think of is the ignition box because it has shorted out on me before, but I didnt think it would prevent all the lights and everything from coming on.

Bzzzz wrong.....

Their forums are littered with broken parts that people like myself didn't "break"...

LOL IJ didn't you post in a thread of Mr. TT's talking about how unreliable they are only a week ago?

Haha, I remember that post too. Something about them not being able to take heat.

I think maybe this one is just defective maybe. I dont think that msd sucks or anything because I know people that have had them and loved them. I just think that maybe I got one that was defective. Ill just get another one. But in the mean time, I'd like to find someone to help me set up the stock ignition because ill screw somethin up if I do it on my own. Id like someone to show me how to do those kinda things

do some troubleshooting before you you take it apart. the problem could come back later.

buy a multimeter, they're like $10.
