RX-7 TII or 944 probably instead of Supra, but it's hard to say. If the AE86 didn't exist it would have been an AW11 for that though.

Eventually I'll have an FD RX-7 though I think. We'll see how it turns out.

RX-7 was introduced in 1979, Nissan Z-car in 1970. I dunno, I think they would have evolved differently without the Supra around, but they might have still existed.

A 1984 Lincoln MKVii was the first car I ever bought. It was a big POS, even heavier than the supra with horrible fuel economy. I bought it in 2000, the year gas prices first jumped from 1.20 to over 2.00 /gal, perfect timing for me (though everyone would love to see those prices now).

Everyone I knew had an old mustang or camaro (old as in 80's, not musclecar era) so I figured I'd have something different. Still would have had luxery, and considering how much I've spent on the Supra it would have had a built 302 with a supercharger by now. I'd still have it today if it wasn't sold out from underneath me. I guess it was a blessing in disguise, now that I have the sup, I'd never go back.

Holy moly, this is an old thread. But if there were no Supras I would own a C5 or C6 ZO6 Vette, or an NSX. Right now I'd like an MR2 or a CRX for a DD. My $0.02.

I would probably look at getting a Nissan 300zx TT or FD RX-7. When I planned on getting the Supra, I wanted a RWD, turbo platform to have some change from the AWD DSM world.
