so i have a 7mge out of a 1990 mk3 in my cressida and the idle goes up and down.. i dont know how far because my tach still isn't working.. when i unplug the tps it jumps up the idle really high guessing around (2 to 2.5k area) and stays there.. but drives ok.. when the tps is pluged in the idle revs up and down and when i give it gas it chokes out and pops and backfires and wants to die.. and sounds like its shooting fireballs in the intake.. and wont drive at all.. i put in another tps sensor i had and it does the same thing as soon as you start it up.. my old one would rev up and down when it got warmed up.. i dont know what to check now..

Might want to check the service manual. Everything you need to know is in there. Might also want to check for codes...
