IDLE Questions......

I know this is a very noob question but please bare with me.....

what would be a good idle and how do i adjust it....

Idle is controlled by the idle air control valve that is controlled by the ECU, there isn't an adjustment.

yes you can adjust the idle speed, well ok on mine I can 1987 with the 7mge. There is screw you can turn with a flat head its to the top left of the TPS. It looks like a open hole but if you look inside you can see a slot for a flat head screw driver. Turn it to idle up or down, But it doesnt adjust RPMs much. Mabye 500 to 600 RPMs. I can get pics tomorrow when its light outside.

Not suppose to adjust the idle with that screw. It is controled by the ISC and ECU, if it's not idling right then there is something else that needs attention.

right now im idle at around 600-700 rpm
im sure thats about right?

Yes, that's right.

when i advanced my timing to 14-15 Degree's, it bumped the rpm to 950. I actually like it that way vs the 600ish. But if you don't know what you're doing, do not fiddle with timing just yet ;]
