Well the car started and drove fine all day, and when I show my buddy the new car it starts to die at idle. It starts misfiring and almost dying, then it evens out, then almost dies. I know the alternator is alright, it reads a constant 13-14.

Also, it has a lack of power, it dosen't downshift when floored. It just says in the wide gear and creeps up there.

I think the misfire type problem is either a vac leak, dist, or spark plugs. Any suggestions? Sorry for asking, I searched about 5 pages to come up with random b/s. Thanks guys

ahem first that random bs is usefull information just gotta do a lot of reading, second did you check your codes, third what have you done to do narrow down that list of what you think it is.
also adding to that list is, TPS, ISC, CSI, dashpot maybe, but first check codes.

If it ran fine all day and just started doing it out of the blue, sounds like a loose wire, vac hose, loose AFM connection, just to add some more random BS

Not a problem. Always check your codes and then refer to the TSRM to see what it tells you to do........then report back to us and someone will help you with the problem at hand.

good night everyone.

I checked the codes, it came up with 3 different codes

1. 41. Problem, probably the TPS
2. 52. Problem, Knock sensor signal? Possibly just because the new engine?
3. 51. Problem, A/C switch (Probably knowing I have no condensoner) or the TPS

What is the average cost of a working TPS for the Supra? It idles perfect, but it only did it last night. I'm glad those are the only codes it threw, even though I was slightly dissapointed :/

I'd recommend getting a new TPS. It's a wear component. New they run between $80 and $120.

Champion Toyota rules!!!!!

If the knock sensors keep throwing codes it can be a pain to get rid of sometimes. You can try different knock sensors and Shaef sells a kit that is awesome.

Yellow trim adhesive for the door trim. Comes in a tube like silicone. Make sure that both surfaces are clean(won't work through dirt). Might check the wiring for the tps as well. Had a problem with mine, turned out the pin in the harness was loose in the connector.

Thanks man, if both are fixed soon simply by the loose plug and yellow adhesive, I will bow to you. It's the only 2 things wrong with it, other than the PS line and that's for Mikine (sp) to fix. We bought it with 3 months of free service left on the VIN# =D
