idle problem

Last night i was cleaning my car and decided to wash the engine bay since it was all grimy, now this morning when i turn the car on the idle is all messed up it fluctuates from 1500 to 2000 rpm. I checked for vacume leaks and found none any have a clue what might be wrong or had a similar problem. oh i also had the car running when i washed the engine and tryed to stay away from all the electrical parts.

So you got important parts wet that aren't supposed to get wet?

Did you check to see if there's water in the spark plug galley? That would cause a lousey ildle.

Make sure everything is bone dry and hope you didn't fry anything.

no i checked the galley and there is no water. it's strange b/c last night car was running fine now this morning i have this problem also if the car has been sitting for a while 1-2 hours and i start it up it idles fine but then after a while it starts fluctuating
