That was pretty crazy. Whats even crazier is I watched a girl flip her car in front of my house yesterday at about 9am. I actually watched the whole thing happen. The wierd thing was it wasnt surreal at all. It just seemed like oh yeah that'll happen kind of thing. But I did call 911 and what not.

wow, people should either learn to drive in conditions such as that, or not drive at all. i love it when people are on 1-95 in the winter with snow/ice on the ground, driving their SUVs and AWD cars going like 10 miles over the speed limit. AWD and 4WD dont help with your breaking, or when you are sliding sideways.

i was heading back from whistler on christmas eve with my girlfriend, all the sudden out of no where this black Nissan Pathfinder spun out into my lane, and it was obvious he was going way to fast for the snow packed highway. Me, going probably a little faster than i should have been, couldnt use the brakes, or eles i would have spun and we would have met in the middle. 2 mins later, brand new Range Rover fliped over to the side of the road, if he would have go 20 more feet, would have been in the river. Pretty wild, i think its just people around here dont know how to drive in the snow. Another weekend, i went through the mountians and counted 36 cars in the ditch, and that was only a 4 1/2 hour drive

what kind of moron goes out in that weather without tire chains?
I've made it the last 3 winters without chains and never wrecked, the first 2 years were in 2wd vehicles too. This winter I'm cruising 4wd though.

Its all about knowing how to drive.

for the past 2 years, i didnt even have snow tires, they were some all seasons. this year is my first with snows, and conviently it hanst snowed yet.
by the way, the cops dont like chains around here, because people cant put them on right and they do more harm than good.

My day started out on a great note.

5am, pulling into the shop's parking lot to unlock the doors and get to work....some middle aged moron in his ready-for-war f250 comes barreling down the road. I think nothing of it, and fumble around looking for the door key.

He was speeding on packed snow, and slid into the curb, through the lot, glanced my wagovan's driver's side fender, and bumped into one of the 8" cement poles by the shop bay door.

Mike, the owner, showed up a few seconds later and just REAMS the guy. The guy pleaded for us not to get insurance involved, and offered cash on the spot. Gave us $350 and we sent him packin'. I bought a powa blue fender and hood already...for $75. So....I got a $275 bonus today, and then I got to go home early after I finished machining a bunch of header flanges in record time.

woo hoo! also, for snow action see my wagon video in my sig.

Everyone in Canada?

My guess is those people were running on summer tires or something. I've never seen that kind of stuff happen around here, and I've seen much worse weather.

Though the one posted in the first post is pretty crazy, not sure I've ever seen a car slide on ice like that, bouncing around.

Yeah, People on the west coast are really the only people who use Chains. I know, because my dads family is from out there. For the majority of the US people don't use chains.
