IAC/ISC Valve Issue

I was wondering if anyone had a good reference to a diagram of the IACV on a 7mgte. I have mine off the car and pulled apart, cleaned up and ready to put back in except for the rubber gromet that seals the rotor (or what ever the black piece is with the stem on it) to the housing some how has expanded big time. Also the orange rubber on the check valve seems to be all warped and not holding its original shape. These pieces were pitch black and needed a good soaking, but I'm thinking gas can have a negative effect on rubber if it sits too long. I guess my main question is does that orange rubber on the check valve seat right up against the triangle cut outs, or away from them?

In all likelihood I think you've ruined those rubber bits. Lucky you they are replaceable individually.

Well...I didn't respond because I could barely read it. This smartass response just validated that decision, regardless of your edit in post #1. You want answers...make what you're trying to say clear. An attitude when you are corrected will get you absolutely nowhere.

That wasn't an attitude, that was an attempt to see where the problem was to proactively fix it in future threads. How can you tell a person's intent from reading a message anyway?

As far as the topic of this thread goes, both the black o-ring or gromet and the orange rubber on the check valve have now returned to they're original shape. I'm assuming that the gas evaporated and allowed them to do so. Thanks for the input and I apologize for any confusion.

I am cleaning my ISC and I only see the black rubber and not the orange one you guys speak of. Help?
