well my gauge for oil pressure is acting up or it may be sensor but either way i rather have a mechanical since there better on accuracy i heard and also cheaper, but either way where does the fiting go and how do i install one anyways, plus i am gona mount it maybe on the hood too, so its not inside the car,

Installation: Remove stock oil pressure sender, install gauge sender into factory hole. You may need adapters to make it thread in correctly.
Then just hack it on your hood if you must...
If you can't tell, I much prefer electronic gauges.

lol i ain't gona hack it onto hood was actually gona get the nice hood cup and all, and some nice line lol, but maybe i will think about it lol, tought about it i still want mech anything is better then the stock one right now lol, it freezes at like the first line then i hit a good bu,p and it will go to where it supppose to be the whole time

use SS lines and run it into the cab of your car. My remote oil filter relocation has a tap in it for oil temp and oil pressure gauges and that is where I ran mine. I HIGHLY suggest the use of the SS lines becase of the heat generated on that side nylon is not very smart.
i would advise you not to put a mechanical one in the cabin.
hot oil shooting at your face is not a good thing.
a electrical one does the same thing, autometer's oil pressure gauge is fine.
you can get a T adapter that fits right in the oil pressure port for the old one or you can tap the hole and then install the sender unit into the hole.
If you must have a mechanical one, follow what some of the members say, run a SS line.

ive got autometer sportscomp electric oilpress. Only problem with mech gauges is when you mount them outside the car you get little vandals who come and rip it off or damage it. :3d_frown:

not if it done correctly!, fuel pressure one thing oil pressure another. There is absolutley nothing wrong with running a mech. oil pressure gauge in the cabin of your car as long as you do it right.
