Alright heres the deal guys, I just got a new 7M-GE put in, with my electronics and what not. On the last engine the TPS and AFM went out for me and I put in new ones from diffrent cars. The problem I have is that my damn RPMs will jump from like 3000 to 5000! for no reason. I give it gas and not only do the RPMs jump but the tranny sometimes will shift at higher RPMs then usual. For instance I'll be driveing and when I give it gas it accelerates diffrently each time. When it would normally shift from 1st to 2nd at 2000 it will shift from 1st to 2nd at like nearly 3500! Then from like 2nd to 3rd at almost 4500!

I know the TPS has to be the cause because I run the codes and get 41 which is the TPS. Should I just try and adjust it? I have no idea what it position on the TB it should be set nor if the problem is the fact that the TPS is off a diffrent car. I need some seriouse help here guys because I dont want to drive it if this will eventually give me a BHG or something until I get it fixed.

I plan to take it to a shop I know very well, and have them take a look and see if they can help.

It won't give u a BHG. Dont worry about that. I had my car 6 months going on and off of the highway everyday. Id shift at about 4000-4500 every shift to get onto the highway. The only thing that happened was that my engine blew and thats because i was racing. Hit 105 and my engine blew. But thats also cuz of the owner before me. He beat the crap out of this car.

Toyota specialist told me that they don't set the TPS like the TSRM. He also told me that the resistances of the TPS was not correct in the TSRM. I don't know about setting the TPS, but he was right about the resistance. It didn't match the TSRM and he knew exactly what it was and they never looked at my car.
They set the TPS by shorting the service plug to bring the timing down to the basic timing (like when you time the car).
Then they turn the TPS all the way one way so the engine runs the slowest.
Then they turn the TPS until the RPMs jump a little.
You adjust the TPS so its at the point just before the RPMs jump.
He said it may take several tries or may take several days before the car behaves correctly. I did it on the first try.

The TSRM has a different method. I tried it and it doesn't yield the same setting as what Toyota told me.

You can check the TSRM here on SM. It was sticky'd at one time.
