Not to mention MVP making replica Veilside shift knobs, replica Stillen Urethane front bumpers, all of the RMM wing copies on ebay, the replica turn signal covers everybody liked so much, etc., etc., etc.

Everybody's willing to jump on the replication bandwagon until it involves somebody they know.

This case isn't even an exact replication. It's a modified design and is made of better materials, not to mention you don't have to pay for the flex section and wideband port.

Hopefully we can get some pictures, video and a writeup of the new downpipes soon so we can put some of this mess to rest.

Nah, shine's cool with us for one reason: They're making the discontinued, hard to find parts that the average guy can't get.
Not only that, they're improving upon them to boot, by making them out of flexible fiberglass so that they won't break if impacted.

We hate yashar for different reasons. :)

No, I have not dealt with the new guy. And I am not judging him yet.
But, Did he design/make/and sell the product all himself?
You will still have to be dealing with more than 1 person, which takes time, especially if one of those legs is in another Country.

These new guys also have not yet provided the information and expertise Randy has.
Randy's products are dyno proven and proffesionally tested. We see his products everyday on our cars.

Here is my judgement... These chinese products will not hold up like Randy's products and service.

Randy was a new guy on the block with his parts once. He was given a chance and he proved himself and his parts were great.

All I am saying is , everyone starts somewhere, gathers their ideas from somewhere and someone, and I am sure Randy did so as well.

No matter where they are made and how they are made, if a part is in demand, and does what people want it to do at a consumer friendly price, they will sell.
In the end, it is ones hard earned money going into upgrading his/her Supras/cars and only they can dictate what and who to buy from.

Not everything made in China looks cheap. Only thing cheap is the cost of labour.

Typical "patriotic" response.
It has nothing to do with patriotism and everything to do with supporting a free market. You know, there are a couple other places aside from America that have a free market. I don't know how the hell you could have confused economic preference with national pride.

Nice veiled attempt at America bashing though. Try harder next time.

where did i attempt to bash America? Thus using transitional theory your statement is false. And why do you think "patriotic" was bracketed? Just like your response to a communist economy. It does not look like a communist branch, more of a socialist market. i think your problem is just like many is that the meaning of the word communism changed ever since 1917, when Vladimir Lenin and his Bolshevik Party took power in Russia.

I am all for free competition but it is a little screwy that he bought one of the BIC products then comes out with an "altered" design. Ultimately the decision is up to the consumer. You can go with the economical choice which saves you $ but is yet to be proven on fit, finish, and performance, or the higher $ choice where you have already seen the results and the R&D behind it. Its pretty simple.

On a side note I have some MM adapters from BIC and the quality/fit is great and I am very satisfied.

Its already been said, but here it goes anyways. I couldnt see it being a big deal if the guy had designed his own downpipe, but damn it, he baught one from Randy and copied it. Made a few little changes and called it his own. In that link he says " im try to tap the untouched market" thats BS, untouched? common, how many of us have a BIC DDP?? I bet theres quite a few. I recall a bunch at suprafest, and i know a guy from out of town baught one from Randy before he left. Personally, if i was randy, id be on a plane to Toronto to find this guy. It makes me mad knowing he ripped of randys design. Ill be sticking with BIC aslong as he makes parts. Not only becasue is he a neighbor, but becasue he is a stand up guy, always willing to help, and does amazing work.

Like I said, it was a piss poor veiled attempt. Putting quotation marks around a word ( FYI these are brackets -> [ ] ) in contemporary literature either means a direct quote or implies sarcasm. When you flippantly suggest that it’s patriotism driving the remark, you are trying to be a little troll bashing America. You can’t try and correlate a remark coming from and American to your own market system because half of your industry is socialized. Thus it is a potshot at America.

The meaning of the word communism has never changed. Just because you can’t differentiate between the democratic socialism of bolshevism and true communism, doesn’t mean others can’t. If I was talking about bolshevism, I would have said bolshevism.

As I originally said, I think there are many people on this board that would feel just fine in a society with complete nationalization of industry (true communism).

Finish a 101 polysci class before replying again…

Edit. you know what, im gonna be the big man hear and not even bother posting about politics. this thread doesn't need to be moved to offtopic and you can be happy that you think that you know about the differences between Socialism and what you've posted.

Randy (BIC) is in Canada. ;)

I agree 100% with shaeff. Being raised in my house, provided by money my father made from our family owned small business, I have the utmost respect for any small business. I support the "little guy" every time I can.

Canada, USA, North America. same thing when it comes to the people, well sorta, but you knew what I meant.:biglaugh:
