So today I started prepping my car to head across town to do my head work. I've been told pretty much fifty fifty that I should tow it or it will be fine to drive over, so I made the decision to save my $60 or $70 and just drive the car. The car's been parked in my driveway for almost a year and a half now. It was in a driveable state when I parked it, but I know that the head is cracked.

So I bolt my cooling fans back up (borrowed them to another Supra friend for some troubleshooting), filled my cooling system with water (seeing as I'm going to be emptying it right aways) and prep the engine for starting. Pull the EFI, get some oil in the top end and then get ready for the moment of truth, see if she starts.

After 3 cranks, the 7M roars to life without a hitch, no coughing, sputtering, nothing. I let it warm up to temperature, rev it a couple times to hear that wonderful sound again, and shut her down.

Later this evening I come back home after being out for a while and see her just sitting there. I couldn't resist, I grab my plates off my DD, slap them on, and take the supra for a spin around the block. All I have to say is wow....no matter how much I hate fighting with that car the drive is so worth it. Having been driving gutless 85hp beaters for the last year and a half (an '89 Mazda 323 and an 86 Corolla Sedan...no, not the hachi roku rear wheel drive goodness, the FR carb'd wonder), just driving around the block was a treat and a half.

So yes, I know it's a fairly pointless thread, but I had to put it somewhere. Feel free to respond or just leave it, I don't care either way.

Will be starting a build thread soon on my top end swap, so look for it probably starting next week. Putting on a home ported and polished head, new Comp Cam 975 springs, resealing the top end, and whatever else I run in to along the way. At least it FORCES me to take pictures while taking apart so when I do start putting things back together and get COMPLETELY lost...I have something for reference ;)

LMAO that part is too funny to me, but i know how you feel. I bought my first turbo supra last year and wasn't able to drive it at all. In the mean time, I drove a 350+wrx, slightly modded s2k and then a GEO TRACKER!!!

And was drivin the tracker until i got to be able to pick up my other 89T, But if it brakes down.... sigh.... Back to the tracker i go:3d_frown::cry:
